  • Very good float properties
  • Very good pumpability
  • High strength
  • Low shrinkage
  • Low application temperatur

Non-shrink grout.

Product description

weber EXM OS is a high strength grout. The material is supplied as pre-mixed dry powder and should be mixed only with water to obtain a ready-to-use, lightly flowing, expanding, frost-resistant, underpinning grout. The included cement is low alkaline and makes the product sulfate durable. weber EXM OS displays very good pumpability properties.

Field of application

weber EXM OS is especially suitable where total filling and extra high strength is required. weber EXM OS is designed for use as structural grouted connections in wind turbine foundations both for offshore and onshore constructions as well as grouting of gravity base structures on offshore platforms. weber EXM OS can also be used in underpinning, embedding and encasing of concrete- and steel structures, bridge bearings, cisterns etc. The material is also well suited for other types of casting work where good waterproofness and high strength are required.

When stored in unopened and intact packaging on plastic covered pallet, under dry conditions, shelf-life is min. 12 months from date of manufacture.

Pre-treatment of substrate

The casting site should be cleaned properly. Impurities and contaminants should be removed mechanically, e.g. by sand blasting. Raw, broken-up surfaces for casting against an existing structure provide best adhesion. The casting site should always be moistened with water to avoid the added water being absorbed out of the casting grout.

weber EXM OS should be mixed by adding 110-120 litres of water per 1000 kg bag (2,75-3 litres per 25 kg bag). The material and water should be mixed using a paddle- or contraflow mixer, high-speed mixer or powerful drill mixer fitted with a beater for minimum 3 minutes until a homogenous, lump-free and lightly flowing consistency is achieved.

weber EXM OS should ideally be applied using a suitable mortar or concrete pump. Adjust the consistency of the mix to suit the casting work to be undertaken. When underpinning, check that no air pockets occur by working away from one side. Only light vibration may be permitted. weber EXM OS should be applied within 45 minutes.

The newly casted grout should be protected from too rapid drying out.

The finished casting should be protected against too rapid drying out. Exposed surfaces (stripped early) should be cured with water during the first couple of days. When watering is finished or when the covering is removed (permanent formwork), a curing membrane could be applied to achieve a best result.

NB! If risk of frost, do not after cure with water.

Please observe

At temperatures below +5oC, adhesion strength develoment will cease to increase. Care must also be taken when casting against cold concrete surfaces. The temperature of the grout mix should ideally be between +15oC and +20oC. Protect finished castings against rapid cool-down. The grout must not be exposed to frost until adhesion strength of 5 MPa is obtained, normally after 1-3 days.

Practical advice

weber EXM OS attains a light flowing (fluid) consistency suitable for pumping. Tools and machinery should be cleaned for fresh material using water. Hardened material should be removed mechanically.
